Green Week 2025
Celebrate Earth Day with Savannah Tree Foundation during the week of April 21st! Join us for a fun-filled week of fundraising events, volunteer opportunities, community outreach, and the planting of our 6,000th tree – all while supporting our mission to protect and preserve Savannah’s urban canopy. Alongside the events will be a week-long, online “Penny Social,” offering several packages for ticket purchasers to win!

Tuesday, April 22: STF Canopy Crawl
Departing from the well-known bar Pinkie Masters, Jake Henry (Chatham County Arborist) will lead a tour of Savannah’s downtown canopy, providing a unique perspective on one of Savannah’s most beloved assets – her trees. Buy Tickets Here!
Wednesday, April 23: Eat at Green Truck Pub
Burgers for trees? Why not?! STF is thrilled to benefit from a portion of sales at Savannah’s best burger spot. STF staff and apprentices will be present in the evening sharing the good works of STF.
Thursday, April 24: Candler Oak Care Day
Caring for the Candler Oak is how STF got started. We continue to care for it 40-plus years later and you can contribute to her spring spruce up as a volunteer. Sign Up to Volunteer!
Friday, April 25: Earth Day Festival
STF is excited to be a participant in the Earth Day Festival at Daffin Park sponsored by City of Savannah and the Lite Foot Environmental Foundation, where we will hold the ceremonial planting of STF’s 6,000th tree – appropriately, a 30-gallon Live Oak (Quercus virginiana). Learn More Here!
Saturday, April 26: Jokes for Oaks
Front Porch Improv brings the jokes. We’ll bring the Oaks. You bring your friends, your sense of humor, and your love of nature for what is sure to be a TREE-mendously good time! Buy Tickets Here!
Sunday, April 27: Yoga Under the Candler Oak

Event Spotlight:
Savannah Canoe & Kayak Guided Tour of Ebenezer Creek
Join Savannah Canoe and Kayak guides and STF Operations Manager Matt White as they host guests on a three-hour interpretive kayak trip through the Tupelo and Cypress Forest at Ebenezer Creek. This is a beautiful and easy paddle through a hardwood bottomland swamp located approximately 25 miles up the Savannah River.

The paddle will launch Friday, April 25 from Tommy Long Landing at 10 AM. There are limited spaces available.

What is a Penny Social?
A penny Social combines the fun of a raffle and an auction.
Three tiers of prizes, three tiers of tickets: $10, $25, $40
Prizes will include local restaurant gift cards and spa services, as well as some bottles of sought after bourbon, gardening tools and services, and of course trees, including a 30-gallon Live Oak that will be installed for the winner!

- Participants can purchase multiple tickets for any/all tiers.
- One Ticket = One Entry
- STF Penny Social will open on Tuesday, April 22 and close at 6PM on Monday, April 28.
- Winners will be drawn Tuesday, April 29 at 10 AM and will be notified by email that day.
- STF staff will coordinate with winners on prize delivery.
