Pick up a free tree for your yard and learn all about the benefits of trees!

We will have 14 species of native and fruit trees, kid-friendly activities and treats for the whole family.

Costumes encouraged! 

The trees are sponsored by State Farm through the Arbor Day Foundation T.R.E.E. program.

What size trees will be available?

The trees will be in 3-gallon pots, as shown in the photos above. 

Depending on the species, they will range from about 3 to 6ft tall. 

This size tree fits in most cars and is easy to plant at home! 

 

When should I plant the tree?

Tree planting season in Coastal Georgia officially starts on November 1st!

We suggest you plant the tree within a week of getting it.

 

HOW DO I PLANT THE TREE?

Each tree comes with a copy of our tree care guide, “Planting and Maintaining Trees in Coastal Georgia.”

HOW DO I CARE FOR THE TREE?

The most important thing to do is water your tree regularly during its first two years!

Are all the trees native?

All but two of the trees are native to Coastal Georgia. Loquats are not native to our region, but thrive here and produce a delicious fruit! The Jane magnolia is a hybrid magnolia that was developed by the National Arboretum in the 1950s. It has magenta flowers and is a great ornamental tree. Both trees have proven to be non-invasive and add value to our urban forest.
